Marija Mijic, HR & Office Allrounder craftworks

What did you do before craftworks?

I worked as a kindergarten teacher for 7 years. I was unhappy with the conditions so I switched to a contact lens institute. I did learn a lot there but after a year I realized that I didn't have any opportunities to grow anymore. As I knew the CEO already I had a connection to craftworks.

What do you do at craftworks, and in what circumstances would I come to you for something?

I work as an operations assistant which means I do administrative and organizational support for the management and Head of Operations. I also take care of the internal quarterly newsletter. You can come to me whenever there is an administrative or organizational topic.

How do you prefer to start your day?

I really love to be one of the first ones at the office. Everything is quiet at first and i can observe how everything comes to life.

Could you describe craftworks in 3 words?

Warm, welcoming and open-minded.

What difference do you notice compared to your previous employment?

craftworks is the biggest company I worked at so far. The team spirit is amazing and you can really feel that everybody cares for each other. That´s why it still feels intimate to work here. Another big difference is that I can finally do home office work, which I'm so grateful for.

Could you tell us more about yourself? For example: what are your hobbies and where do you like to spend your time most?

I love to spend my time in nature. If I had to pick one place it would be Lobau. I really enjoy to do sport activities there where as cycling, running, volleyball and so many more.

What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important to you?

I really learn a lot about different tools here at craftworks. Plus since working here my work-life balance really improved which had a big effect on my private life.

What's the best advice you were ever given?

Don't overthink it.

Which music is playing on your player right now?

Provinz, a german Indie-Band.

Which book would you recommend reading?

Life safari by John Strelecky.

Only 3 short questions left:

Coffee or Tea? Tea!

What's your favorite meal? Mango Sticky Rice.

If you could choose a superpower, what would it be? To be invisible.
