Meet The Team: Interview with John Earl Bascos

Welcome on board to John

Happy reading!

Could you start by explaining how you ended up at craftworks? Princh is my best friend and he was always talking about the company and that they were looking for a data labeller.

What were you doing before craftworks? So I am an appointment setter. Aside from that I am also studying Computer Engineering.

What advice would you give someone who’s just starting out in your field? This advice is for myself since it's my first tech company - dont overthink and ask for help, and read.

Could you tell us more about your position at craftworks and what you enjoy the most? They got me for data-labeling and the project that I'm supposed to be working on was delayed so they hired me as a QA Engineer instead. Basically I do write test-cases and improve applications. What I enjoy the most is working with my best friend Princh.

Could you tell us more about yourself? For example: what are your hobbies and where do you like to spend your time most? I just turned 23 and basically when I have free time, I reading books and I actually started doing this just this year. I prefer to read self-help books. I also enjoy going to the gym but have not been there for a few weeks now but before when I was really active, I was training about 4 times a week.

Which music is playing on your player right now? The Weeknd “I was never there”, he’s my favorite artist.

Which book would you recommend reading and why? Atomic Habits by James Clear. If you want to create a healthy habit and routine, that's really helpful.

Who or what has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work? I will go back to Princh again cause he is a positive influence in my life right now and he is the nicest person I know and really hard working and he really pushes me to be serious with my coding skills. He’s really encouraging me.

If you were the only human left on Earth, what would you do? I would go to a party alone.

What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important to you? Right now I'm learning to practice good work ethic. It's important in whatever field you're in like your attendance and integrity in work and it's important to practice it.

I'm learning to not care what people think or say about me because I'm a people pleaser and I seek validations from other people.

3 short questions:

Coffee or tea? Tea, since I'm not allowed to drink coffee because of my GERD.

Tell me one place you always wanted to travel to? Japan. Because I'm into Anime.

What's your favorite meal? a Filipino Dish called Lumpia
