Meet The Team: Interview with Tatevik Gharagyozyan

We are happy to introduce you to our first female Data Scientist Tatevik. She joined craftworks in August and supports our Data Science team with her excellent knowledge in the areas of Machine learning, Deep Learning and Neural Networks. Enjoy the interview!

Could you start by explaining how you ended up at craftworks?

I found out about the job opening from google search. The job description piqued my interest, and I shared the company values, so I applied. Then I attended the 27th Vienna Deep Learning Meetup where Daniel Ressi was presenting some of the challenging projects that they did at craftworks, all of which were very interesting for me, and I knew that applying was a right decision.

Could you tell us what about your position at craftworks you enjoy the most?

Variety of interesting projects and work atmosphere/environment.

What behaviour or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

Willingness to develop myself in all areas of my life. Especially in the fast moving field of AI I think there is no other option than keeping up with the trends and continuously learning.

What does your typical day at craftworks look like?

I start my day by greeting everyone in the office, drinking water or lemon water, then continue working on amazing projects that craftworks has.

Could you describe craftworks in 3 words?

open, professional, innovative

Which book would you recommend to read and why?

Essentialism – The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown For me the most influential point in this book is the essentialist approach to decision making. It is a great book, and I am going to hear it again (the audio version) as I am on my path to essentialism.

As you grew up and studied in Armenia, what about Austria you like the most?

It is a combination of factors that makes Austria special for me e.g. beautiful nature, clean environment, beautiful architecture, safety, high living standard, being in the center of Europe etc.

What do you do with your time off?

Traveling is one of my hobbies, and being in the center of Europe makes it easier.

3 short questions:

Mac or PC?

PC (Linux)

Office or remote?

Both have their advantages, and I am glad we have the flexibility.

Which music is playing on your player right now?

vivaldi 4 seasons
