Meet The Team: Interview Lucas Steigberger

A very warm welcome to Lucas, our newest team member and Technical Sales Manager. Happy reading!

Let’s start with how you landed at craftworks and which position you cover?

Daniela, our Head of People found and messaged me on LinkedIn. Afterwards we had several interview rounds but it was quite a quick process. And I ended up as Technical Sales Manager, assisting Sven our VP Sales. And yeah, we’ll see where it takes me.

What made you leave your other job for craftworks?

First of all the field of AI is mysterious and interesting. There were three big elements which influenced my decision: More learning options in this job, the vibe of the people and the atmosphere with the people. It was time for something new and I followed my intuition.

A good gut feeling.

What about craftworks do you like the most? There is a lot to say, so far. On a professional level there are the services and products offered. The dynamic between the people here - enthusiastic dooing. Work becomes fulfilling and meaningful when passion is involved. And also the coffee machines and the awesome get-togethers.

Could you describe craftworks in 3 words? Young, optimistic, cool

Which craftworks value is most important to you and why? Personally, it’s teamwork, considering that I come from a team sports background. Every team is only as strong as its weakest member. With a vision and mutual assistance - miracles can be achieved. What's the best advice you were ever given in your life? It's Jerry Seinfeld “Keep your head up in failure, and your head down in success.”

We all fail, that's part of opening your mindset. Success isn't the end to itself. It's part of the journey - keep on going whatever happens.

Could you tell us more about yourself?

For example: what are your hobbies and where do you like to spend your time most?

Corona means my free time is not always that exciting. Friends and sports are very important to me. Music is also a very big part of my life. Also volunteering and in a quiet moment I enjoy a glass of whiskey and to read.

Which book would you recommend reading and why?

There is one book called “The Tao of Physics.” - It is a very interesting thought experiment. Something bridging the gap between physics and eastern religions. Or “ Meditations” by Marcus Aurelius. Personally it changed my life. It's an insightful focus on values. Real freedom is the freedom to choose how to react to things.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Optimistic, loyal, generous

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

In quiet moments I like to collect and paint plastic models (figure modells).

3 short questions:

  1. Mac or PC?

  2. Office or remote?

  3. Coffee or tea?

If you could choose a superpower, what would it be? Time control, because of unlimited possibilities.

Thank you Lucas!
